How do you send a message from your phone to your friends on facebook?

So I have FB mobile and I tried sending a message to my friend Jake from my phone. I texted "M jake cormacc hai" like I usually do and a few minutes later I received a message from facebook that said "Sorry this command is no longer supported." What does that mean? Does that mean that I can no longer send messages to my friends from my phone?
